Born in Denmark and grown up in Gran Canaria, Bjorn was a professional athlete for more than three decades. He toured with the PWA, the Professional Windsurf Association, all around the world. With his 42 World Championship titles in all windsurfing disciplines he is the most successful sportsperson of all times.
After his withdrawal from professional sports, Bjorn dedicates himself now thoroughly to the promotion of young athletes through his two surf schools, and the distribution of the fashion labels CAMP DAVID & SOCCX on the Canary Islands and his surf shop. ”My two surf schools offer me the opportunity to pass on my passion and my knowledge to the young ones. I will still participate in long distance races and speed races with a lot of joy and ambition. In addition to that there is also enough time for me to organize Windsurf and SUP events – the Dunkerbeck Speed or SUP Challenges.” says Bjorn.
